Spaced: Series 1 (1999)
The award winning, critically acclaimed situation comedy, written by and starring Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson and directed by Edgar Wright.
'Spaced' is the story of two very different people, enthusiastic but directionless Daisy Steiner and grumpy, broken hearted skateboarder, Tim Bisley - two twenty-somethings who pretend to be a professional couple to secure the tenancy of a North London flat. As the pair grow closer, the potent mix of their friends, interests and ambitions lead them into a world more bizarre than childhood and a lifetime away from being grown up. Keep telling yourself ... 'It's only a sitcom'.

    A cult sitcom.
If you enjoyed the zombie comedy 'Shaun Of The Dead' you'll most likely love 'Spaced', Jessica Stevenson and Simon Pegg's surreal sitcom. The series follows the exploits of Daisy (Jessica Stevenson), a wannabe writer and Tim (Simon Pegg), a wannabe comic book artist, who hardly knowing each other pose as a married couple in order to rent a flat. Where as most sitcoms would play on the situation and gender based misunderstandings which would come from a male and female sharing a flat, 'Spaced' goes for a more surreal approach with witty dialogue, strange characters, clever references to pop culture and very clever direction from Edgar Wright which gives a unique feel to the show.
