Fitzcarraldo (1982)
A legendary film for many reasons. The background to the making of Fitzcarraldo, the fighting between star (Klaus Kinski) and director - Herzog, the resulting masterpiece. All these combine to bring a vision to the screen unlike anything before (or since).
A crazy Irish adventurer (Kinski), searching for untapped rubber in the Amazon jungle, brings Caruso and Verdi to the tribes he encounters. Followed, stalked almost, by beautiful madam Molly (Claudia Cardinale) he enlists the help of Amazon tribesmen to lift his ship over a mountain to a parallel waterway.
A monumental visual feast, astonishing performances and a feat of filmmaking unlikely to be seen again. Watch and wonder in awe.

Journey to Paradise
Fabulous, fascinating and beautiful to behold. Perhaps herzog's most well-known movie, this has to be seen to be believed. Everything you see actually took place without the aid of special effects or CGI. Will take your breath away. Take it away, enrico caruso...
