Drawn into the twilight world of internet chat rooms and webcams, computer buff Thomas Cross (Edward Furlong) meets a girl he knows only as Cathy. But no sooner has their 'virtual' relationship begun that it is brutally cut short when Thomas watches helplessly as Cathy is murdered on screen... before his very eyes. In a state of shock he calls the cops only to realise he can't even tell them the victim's real name and it's not long before the police finger Thomas as their prime suspect.
