Pete, a young orphan, flees from his cruel guardians to a fishing town with a loveable but mischievous dragon named Elliott.
Despite Elliotts constant troublemaking, Pete is taken in by a kind lighthouse keeper (Helen Reddy) and her father (Mickey Rooney). But when Petes guardians arrive demanding his return, Petes new family, led by one fire-breathing dragon, refuses to let him go!
