A young couple on holyday are car-jacked by an escaped convict. When their tyres are punctured by a dead animal riddled with needle-like splinters they have to take refuge in a deserted gas station. Little do they know that these splinters are from a parasitic organism that transforms its still living victims into deadly hosts. Trapped inside the gas station they realize they have to work together to fight this primal terror and get out alive.
