This Stephen King adaptation leaves an after-thought like no other movie I have watched. Set in Shawshank prison, the cast present a very believable mixture of personalities that have wound up serving time with each other. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman set aside from the rest and tell the story of their prison lives from an intelligent and moralistic standpoint, which takes you on a ride of different emotions and a truly remarkable twist.
This was a mediocre movie, Tom Hanks adding all the magic as usual. It plays through a pleasant, humorous storyline and has a lot of little quirks that are somewhat cliché to the situation and location; similar to Castaway. The down point of the film for me was the farcical situations that were added to fill a film that should have ended way before it actually does.
