Larry Clark's 'Bully' takes a bold, fascinating, and realistic look at a slice of American subculture, middle class teenage losers. It's a disturbing look at an element of American youth who have the bodies of adults, the minds of children, the freedom of money, and a lethal potential as they plan a murder as casually as they would have sex or take drugs, and parents who are oblivious or live in denial of the activities of their kids. Based on a true story in which a group of teens murder a high school bully in Florida in 1993, 'Bully' is brutally realistic, shocking, and courageously well acted. Nick Stahl is amazing as the menacing bully 'Bobby Kent', and really shows signs of being a future acting heavyweight. Overall, this is a powerful, thought provoking film which at times can be very hard to watch.
