Jack Carter has spent his life collecting for other people - debts, agendas, and retribution. When his brother is killed in an accident, Carter returns home to the family he abandoned and the debts that were never paid. The trip home is a second chance to make amends for past mistakes. Despite initial suspicions from his brother's wife, Gloria and her teenage daughter Doreen, Jack forms an uneasy truce with Doreen, and soon she is helping him navigate the violent underbelly of the city, through a deceptive world where nothing is what it seems.
