Exterminator Ángel Bengoelxeo journeys to the scorched red hills of a Spanish vineyard to eradicate the wood lice that are denaturing the taste of the wine. Before long, two women steal his heart: the unhappily wed Ángela and her spouse's seductive, libertine mistress, Mari. Engulfed in conflicting feelings, Ángel struggles to find inner peace in director Julio Medem's haunting allegorical film.
