Storytelling review by Shatner's Bassoon
Unbalanced and uneven.

'Storytelling' is an uneven, disappointing two part film with the first part, 'Fiction' about a college student who breaks up with her boyfriend and sleeps with her teacher, and the second part, 'Non-Fiction', about a documentary filmmaker who explores the life of a dysfunctional family, focusing mainly on an alienated teen named Scooby. 'Storytelling' has plenty of the sharp eyed irony that you expect from a Todd Solondz film, but the first half, 'Fiction', makes little sense, and seems short and insignificant alongside the films longer and better second half. By the end you're left with a film which has an unfinished and unsatisfying feel to it. Nothing like Todd Solondz's previous two films 'Welcome To The Dollhouse' and 'Happiness', which are infinitely superior.
