In remote Alaska, citizens have been mysteriously vanishing since the 1960s. Despite multiple investigations, the truth behind the phenomena had never been discovered - until now. While video taping therapy sessions with traumatised patients, psychologist Dr. Abigail Tyler (Milla Jovovich) unwittingly exposes terrifying revelations of multiple victims whose claims of being visited by alien figures all share disturbingly identical details. Based on actual case studies, The Fourth Kind uses Dr. Tyler's never-before-seen archival footage alongside dramatic reenactments to present the most disturbing evidence ever documented in this provocative thriller critics are calling "terrifyingly real..

Wow what a film! I really enjoyed this. I was on the edge of my seat throughout and hid my eyes on several occasions. Can this really be true? If so, watch out!!! One of the best scary, thought provoking films I have ever seen. Was just amazed by it all. Extremely well put together with something happening all the time. If it is true, why is this the first I have heard about it? How was this kept such a secret? Think Paranormal Activity, Aliens, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Poltergeist, The Omen and The Exorcist - this film is such a mixture of frightening unexplained situations. I watched it on my own - I wish I hadn't!!

Unsettling

The 4th kind is about alien abduction and is a re-enactment of events that happened in an isolated town in Alaska in 2002. In mixes 'real' video footage with re-enacted scenes. If you buy into the concept and believe what you are seeing, then this is pretty disturbing stuff. Of course, it doesn't actually show any aliens but there are some voices and shadows and a general unsettling feel. It basically leaves you to decide, so from that aspect the ending comes up quite fast and personally left me wanting more. My wife was really spooked by this, but would recommend that you research this on the internet after you've watched it (imdb.com). The soundtrack is very well done as well as it merges the 'original' audio with the remade audio very well by splitting it between left and right side which gives a eerie feel. Recommended if you want something a bit different. There are a couple of shocks in this as well to keep you on your toes.....

is there anyone out there?

Sorry didn't like it. The archival footage alongside dramatic reenactment did not work for me - it merely served to confuse. I kept waiting for the action to start and some acting to begin but eventually gave up and switched off. Guess I'll never know if ther are little green men!
