Rent The Hit List (2011)

Ever wish you had the chance to get back at the boss who undermined you... the spouse who cheated on you... or the friend who deceived you? One night, a down on his luck businessman, Allan Campbell (Cole Hauser), meets a mysterious stranger, Jonas Arbor (Cuba Gooding Jr.), who claims to be a professional hit man. Jonas offers to take out five targets, free of charge. Thinking it's a bad joke, Allan jots down his own private hit list. The next day, the people he named start turning up dead, and all the evidence points to Allen. Hunted by the police and haunted by guilt, Allan races against time to stop the murders he set in motion. In this world, vengeance always has a price.

Poor Acting 3rd Rate Movie

I was intially attracted to the film by the storyline and Cuba Gooding Jr. However from the very start the poor quality of the movie itself and the ham acting gave it the feeling of a B/C grade production. This continued throughout and the story became so translucent and predictable that I had to force myself to watch it .... wrong decision! Be warned.

Mindless violence

I think this film was conceived to combine lots of deaths by shooting, with a count down climax. The "Hit List" of 5 victims is drawn up in an unbelievable way and executed in an even less believable and certainly tediously mechanical way. I don't expect to see Allan Campbell shoot to fame on his performance, Cuba Gooding was mis-cast. Best avoided.

Well worth watching

I disagree with previous comments about poor acting in this film. The acting is fine with both Cuba Gooding Jr and Cole Hauser giving good performances, in fact although this is obviously a low budget film they lift it above what could have been an average movie. Not quite in the same class as Collateral a movie it is often compared to, it is nevertheless a good action movie with a very high body count. The ending climax for me was just a little bit over the top but I still enjoyed it and can recommend it as well worth watching.
