Rent The Omen (2006)

In this chilling remake of The Omen - that is even more terrifying than the original - man's darkest fears are manifested as an unspeakable terror is unleashed on the world! U.S diplomat Robert Thorn (Liev Schreiber) substitutes an orphan for his own stillborn baby in order to spare his unknowing wife (Julia Stiles). But after a series of grotesque murders and dire warnings, the Thorns come to the horrifying realisation that their child is the son of Satan.

Rubbish Remake

So, how excited was I when I heard a reamke of the classic Omen was being made. Well upon watching it I was really let down. Yes it echo's the original story line all the way through but the characters are not up to scratch. Damien is no where near as sinister as the original young boy, and Julia Stiles who in my opinion is a good actress just does not suit the role of Damiens mother, on occasions I found myself laughing at her when I clearly shoudn't have been! Liev Schreiber plays the father but all I could think of when I saw him was his chrarter Cotton Weary in the scream films, he's just not a versatile actor. If you want a good film stcik to the original.

Another pointless remake

With the recent influx of Hollywood remakes, you would think that they have had enough. If you've seen the original, then don't bother with this,if you haven't,then rent the original. The story and plot lines are exactly the same only this Damien is REALLY irritating.Where do they find these kids!! Mia Farrow is superb as the nanny but as for the rest of the cast, they are no match.Watch this with your new girlfriend after a few pints ( only if she is over 18 and under 25!!)
