Rent The Road (2009)

The Road is a thrilling and deeply moving tale of survival as a father and his young son journey across a barren, post apocalyptic America. Respectfully adapted from Cormac McCarthy's hallowed novel, The Road boldly imagines a future in which men are pushed to the worst and the best that they are capable of - a future in which a father and his son are sustained by love.

Sorry I did not enjoy this at all. Found it boring, dark, depressing and really difficult to understand. Couldn't really see the point.

A good Idea

A good idea not executed that well from the preview it looked interesting but alas it was quite poor and as for the kid i just wanted to slap him ..................... Viggo was doing his best but his shoulders are not wide enough to carry this pre seasonal bird........ i am also a fan of Guy Pearce but his cameo role was "oops" ya missed it and although Rober Duval did have a few lines again just wadding i'm afraid........... oh well onwards and upwards............

The Road review by TT

Ultimate road movie.

Unexpectedly moving in parts. The bleak atmosphere created by the the filming really pervades everything right up to the end. Each step in their journey is dictated by dire circumstances until you begin to think that the end is a foregone conclusion. The son, in my opinion, has the better part to play, and there are some heart rending scenes which were played so authentically that I defy anyone not to have a tear to wipe away. Equally some really evil situations some of which are suggested rather than in your face ,will give everyone pause for thought.Recommended.
