When shy groom-to-be Victor Van Dort (Johnny Depp) practices his wedding vows, inadvertently in the presence of a deceased young woman (Helena Bonham Carter), she rises from the grave assuming he has married her!As he is whisked away to the underworld, Victor's his real bride, Victoria (Emily Watson), waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful than his strict Victorian upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world, or the next, that can keep him away from his one true love....Tim Burton returns to the inspiration behind his first stop-motion animated short, iVincent/i for a frighteningly funny family fantasy tale. With an arduous year long shoot which far eclipsed that of his previous animation feature, "The Nightmare Before Christmas", Tim Burton spared no expense to bring his delightfully delirious vision to the screen.

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride unlike the Nightmare Before Christmas, actually sees Burton performing directorial duties. As expected it features his unique vision and flair. A bloke on the eve of his biggest day, soon falls foul to a corpse with dramatic and hilarious results. A real strength is the voice actors, superbly picked and each matches their onscreen persona marvellously. The Corpse Bride is a wonderful experience for all ages.
