An excellent slice of pure Americana from Drew Barrymore on her directorial debut.
Ellen Page plays 17 year old Bliss Cavendar, stifled in her home town, and forced into beauty pageants by her mother. She finds her true love in more ways than one when she visits the local roller derby and Babe Ruthless is born.
This movie takes Bliss through the full spectrum of emotion. She's up, she's down, she's rolling on the ground. Ultimately it's how she thrives with a team and how she deals with her mother.
Brilliant, funny, poignant and sassy. Watch this movie!
