- Single minded and outspoken, Alice Goodwin has her own way of looking at life and not everyone takes on her. Especially in the small town of Prairie Centre, Wisconsin, where Alice, her husband and her two young children are newcomers. Her only friend is Theresa. But when Alice is involved in a terrible tragedy, even she abandons her. Then, in the midst of all this turmoil, Alice is arrested and charged with a shocking crime she didn't commit. Shunned by everyone, her family is taken to the brink of self-destruction and Alice must fight to prove her innocence or risk losing everything she holds so dear.
