Five teenage friends; Dean (Kellan Lutz), Kris (Katie Cassidy), Jesse (Thomas Dekker), Quentin and Nancy, living on one street all dream of a sinister man with a disfigured face, a frightening voice and a gardener's glove with knives for fingers. But when one among them dies, they soon realize that what happens in their dreams happens for real and the only way to stay alive is to stay awake. Buried in their past is a debt that has just come due. To save themselves, they must plunge into the mind of the most twisted nightmare of all: Freddy Krueger.

A disappointing remake. - A Nightmare on Elm Street review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
16/11/2010

I had high hopes for this new remake of 'A Nightmare On Elm Street' though after seeing it I came away feeling a bit disappointed. The storyline is fairly close to the original 1984 film but the new Freddy sadly lacks the humour and one-liners of the Wes Craven's original character. It's also a more polished and perhaps darker film but the over use of CGI effects often comes off a bit flat and less creative than the original movie. If you've never seen the 1984 original then this 2010 remake isn't that bad a film, though if you're a fan of the original you'll probably feel a bit disappointed.

original is so much better - A Nightmare on Elm Street review by CP Customer

I was keen to see this film as i loved the original ones. But after watching it i was deaply dissapointed. The plot is compleatly different which in my opinion affects the film on many levels. Also Freddy is not scary and completly lacks the humor that Robert England had. I would definatly not recomend this film to any one.
