In this wonderful tale of love and food, Haru is a woman with an excellent sense of taste and great skills in the kitchen. Unfortunately, she also has a feisty character. One day Dennai Funaki, the samurai chef from Kaga, proposes that Haru should marry his son and heir. The Funaki family have served the Lords of Kaga as their chefs for generations and are the best chefs in the country. But the heir and Haru's new husband Yasunobu is a terrible cook. In order to save the Funaki family name and its position as kitchen samurai, Haru decides to teach Yasunobu the art of cuisine.

Lovely tale of a young woman, who is persuaded to marry into a family of Samurai chefs. She is a brilliant cook and starts to help her reluctant husband in the ways of cuisine, when he would actually rather be fighting with a sword.
There then follows some court skullduggery and a bit more drama until the final rom com scene. Beautifully fought with genuine characters, this is a splendid movie and you won't be disappointed.
