Poirot receives a series of letters signed ABC, warning him of murders that are about to happen. What is the link between these seemingly unconnected murders? Are the murders the work of a madman? Are they motivated by hatred of Poirot? And where does •he stocking salesman fit into the picture? When Hastings returns from South America he discovers that Poirot has received a letter signed ABC. it is a personal challenge, warning Poirot of a murder in Andover. When Japp checks further, a woman shopkeeper is found battered to death in Andover with an ABC railway guide left on her shop counter. This is the first of four such letters warning Poirot of forthcoming killings. Hercule at once realises he is not on the trail of crackpot but a clever killer.., - Actors:
