Synopsis:
It?s quite an interesting topic for a debate or a thesis - whether the various social and ethnic groups in America have been assimilated into one large "American" culture or have maintained their distinctive cultures and identities. Whatever may be the result of such deliberations, one cannot deny the fact that the cultural diversity of its people has given the United States a unique character. Drawn by the promise of a better life, immigrants from all over the world have flocked to the United States for centuries and made it their home. Seen here is a wonderful pictorial commentary on the lives of the descendents of these fortune seekers, many of who had never visited the homeland of their forefathers, and yet follow cultural and religious practices as if they were still in their country of origin. Portrayed here is a thrilling peek at the lives of some Chinese, European and Native Americans. Partly in black and white and partly in color, the clips enthrall with their historic contents, helped along by some charming narration.
