New! Wake Up Ron Burgundy: It's the 70's and San Diego's top-rated newsman is at the peak of his powers. Walking tall and sharing a desk with his beloved Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), the city of San Diego now have a King and Queen and they rule with a mighty and sometimes sexy fist. But all is not perfect between Ron and his lady friend. Filmed at the same time as Anchorman, Wake-Up Ron Burgundy finds Ron (Will Ferrell - Elf, Old School) trying to out-do his lover and rival Veronica to remain top dog of network news. With both sides on a mission to 'rip the lid off' a pacifist terrorist organisation 'The Alarm Clock', Wake-Up Ron Burgundy is sure to go down smooth.

contains the theatrical version of the film. Most movies with Ferrell are hit and miss, but his style is easily suited to the 70's Anchorman persona. The classic period of when news teams ruled the airwaves and caught the imagination and support of cities. No 24 hour news channels or faceless voice-overs back then, no siree.
This is easily one of his best films and features a star cast, most of whom turn up during the widespread street brawl of rival news channels. The big names keep on going and so do the gags, plus that dog. A strong comedy that Will has yet to better.
