Beethoven: Symphonies No. 8 and 6 (Harnoncourt) (1990)

During a week or two period during the 1990 Styriarte Festival in Austria, Nikolaus Harnoncourt and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe performed all nine Beethoven symphonies.

This film, produced and directed by Christopher Swaan, records the performances of Beethoven Symphony No.8 and No.6 ("The Pastoral") given by Harnoncourt and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe in the Stefaniensaal in Graz at this time. The film also includes a documentary, ("The Making of the Symphonies") and interviews with Harnoncourt and members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
