Synopsis:
The Still of the Night (Biography)
Harry Lillis Crosby was the 20th century's first entertainer to become a multi-media performer. Not only did he conquer the world of music but also took to radio and movies with the same effortless style earning him a deserving place in entertainment's hall of fame. He notched up 38 number 1 hits in his career including 'White Christmas', which until recently was the best selling single of all time. But his popularity wasn't limited to the charts as he became a star of radio and screen, topping the box office earners list 5 times between 1944-1948, again unsurpassed until recently. His love of horse racing kept his feet firmly on the ground, opening the world famous Del Mar racetrack where his song 'the surf meets the turf' is played at every meeting. His other passion was golf and it was on a Madrid course where he'd play his final role; Bing died of a heart attack at 74 saying 'that was a great game, fellas'; a fitting epitaph for a man who provided such great entertainment to so many.
