- Based upon the popular series of novels written by Herman C. McNeile, the dashing, debonair, daredevil, proto-Bond private detective Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond (John Lodge) returns to the silver screen in his ninth movie adventure. 'Bulldog Drummond at Bay' finds our fighting hard, playing hard, living clean hero opting for the quiet life in an old country house in the English countryside. But it isn't long before intrigue and danger decide to give him a visit. An evil arms dealer is after the plans for a supersonic, super secret warplane and kidnaps its inventor.
