Top cover girl and fashion model, Jennifer Tree (Elisha Cuthbert) has it all - beauty, fame, money and power. Appearing on covers of hundreds of magazines, Jennifer is America's sweetheart. Everyone wants her. But someone out there has been watching and waiting. Someone wants her in the worst way. Out alone at a charity event in New York, Jennifer is drugged and taken. Held captive in a cell, she is subjected to a series of terrifying, life-threatening tortures that could only be conceived by a twisted, sadistic mind.
This film is "just ok" and not sorry I watched it but thought it could have been better.
A young model is abducted and trapped in a room where she is mentally and physically tortured (the physical torture is not as bad as it sounds in the film description!!)
It was a good story but dragged a little in places and the twist is not unexpected. However, I thought the story was good. I felt it may have been better if filmed differently or the script was though out a little better. It seemed that the characters could have been looked into deeper - particularly the abductor. It did touch on his character's past and personality but was a little rushed at this point
If it's gore you want, there is a little but doesn’t come close to Saw or Hostel.
I thought it was ok and worth a watch if you have some spare time.
Above average horror thriller.

This is a well above average horror thriller which moves along at a decent pace. The film starts off as a Saw/Hostel style gory hostage movie, then takes a clever twist about half way through. The acting and production quality is pretty high for this type of film and overall Captivity is a well above average horror movie, and if you're a horror fan well worth a rental.
