Charda Suraj (1996)

On a trip to Punjab, a journalist from Delhi (Shivani) falls in love wih Suraj, an exemplary young Punjabi man who is breaking new path in farming. Meanwhile, a foreign returned young man, Pal, also falls in love with her, but he is heart-broken when he sees that she's already in love and decides go back to London. Suraj is oblivious of a very dark past - that of the trauma his parents once went through at the hands of the local landlord. His father was slain by the lecherous wicked man for standing up to his debauchery and his mother was raped. Suraj is livid. How he avenges the humiliation forms the crux of the remaining film.
