- When a robbery near London's Tower Bridge turns sour and one of the bandits winds up dead in Barberini's Circus, it's only a matter of time before stolen money is traced to the big top. When another body turns up, this time the knife thrower's glamorous assistant Gina (Margaret Lee), Scotland Yard soon puts Inspector Elliot (Leo Genn) on the case. Suddenly panic begins to sweep through the circus as it becomes clear there is a murderer in their midst. The masked lion tamer Gregor (Christopher Lee), a jealous knife thrower and a blackmailing dwarf all become suspects in this chilling story of murder, blackmail, deceit and hate.
