We take a journey, four and a half billion years back, discovering its origins, when Mars was being formed from the gas and dust of the solar nebula. Also, episodes of spacecraft landings & spacewalks; those lessons learned in the early days are still in practice today, a look at White Sands Missile Range and NASA's "Sounding Rocket Program" about low cost, high-risk spacecraft.
Hailey's CometIn 1986, technology enabled us to get a much closer look at this amazing celestial fireball. By pinpointing a space traveler's best level of "contrast sensitivity", researchers create small but smart space vehicles to negotiate boulder fields.
