Curtis Mayfield has figured prominently in soul music for over four decades now. The creative force behind The Impressions, Mayfield was responsible for great songs such as "People Get Ready", "I'm So Proud", "We're A Winner", "Choice Of Colors", and "Mighty Mighty (Space And Whitey)". Going solo in 1970, he released a string of superlative and influential records including "Roots", "Back To The World", and the legendary "Superfly" soundtrack. This concert film from 1988 captures the full power of one of the giants of black American music in performance and, as a bonus, also includes an interview Mayfield gave at the time to life-long fan Paul Weller.
