This is the official and comprehensive review of the history-making 2009 Dakar Rally. Although the event retained the historic Dakar name, the rally was held in South America for the very first time in 2009. Despite relocating across the Atlantic Ocean, for an odyssey which would take in Chile and Argentina, the Dakar Rally again attracted a strong field of cars, bikes and trucks, as well as many of the biggest names in motorsport. For more than 30 years the Dakar Rally has earned a reputation as one of the toughest challenges on Earth.
