Renee Summers has just been released from a mental institution when her fiancee and psychiatrist, Jeffrey Morgan buy's her a secluded cabin to rest before she faces her friends and family... Renee soon befriends her only neighbour Michael Richards (David Heavener) who is not all that he seems to be. She also uncovers a deadly secret! The former tenants of the cabin, a Mayan family, were butchered to death and dumped in an unmarked grave... Upon investigation, Renee and Michael discover that the Mayan grave is empty, but the dead are close... Now...the dead are walking, they are hungry... and they want revenge! Just when Renee is about to meet her doom, she is rescued by a long time friend of the butchered Mayan family, Alfredo Rubin. Renee soon discovers she must give the Mayan family a ritualistic burial in order to reverse the curse that haunts them and let the dead return to their graves.
