The world is in turmoil in the years following the 2nd World War. Cold War tensions are at a high and the threat of nuclear war is a real possibility. Espionage and counter espionage plots abound and nothing is what it seems!! Robert Matthews (Emrys Jones), an apparently innocent artist, is enjoying his holiday in Cornwall. Whilst drinking in his local pub the barman makes a call to the local constabulary. Matthews is arrested but it is a question of mistaken identity as he bears a striking resemblance to escaped convict John Barlow. Following his brief imprisonment the strangely secretive Matthews befriends the local Police force and learns more of the crimes of Barlow. It is not long until he meets Barlow face to face and suffers at the hands of convict. Assuming Matthews identity, Barlow attempts to impersonate the artist and plan his escape. The Police are closing in and Barlow becomes more agitated, at the prospect of being discovered. In the thrilling climax Barlow finally learns the true identity of Matthews and his treacherous plot. Will Barlow's true identity be discovered before it is too late!! - Actors:
