Synopsis:
In an adventure beyond the limits of engineering, we explore the feasibility of several extraordinary projects. Imagine a bridge built to connect Europe with Africa, a 170 storey skyscraper or a Floating Ocean City. Utilising state of the art graphics we construct these projects and then venture into the real world to explore the technology and meet the peopfe that one day hope to make these dreams a reality. Indeed, all of these projects are already on the drawing board and if built they would be engineering achievements of historic proportions, but they would also present unprecedented challenges.
Could they really be built? Would they be safe? And could they withstand the worst that nature could throw at them? Great engineering advances happen when a number of innovative and scientific leaps come together for the first time. These marvels of technology make us realise that even something as far fetched as a tunnel under the Atlantic Ocean may not be such a pipe dream after all.
