This is another interesting title from A2ZCDS containing footage from the legendary Stillman collection of fire films. Unlike the other titles in this series, this time there is a global perspective ? and there is less emphasis on standard building fires. You even get to see a munitions plant in Bombay blow up in a pretty spectacular explosion. There are a lot of boat fires ? which provide a good chance to really see how things burn ? and the blaze reflects off the water and provides great natural ambient lighting. Most of the clips are in black and white ? but they have been preserved well and the digital restoration is top notch. If you want to see some interesting historical fires, this is one of the best collections out there. - Studio:
