Iron and Steel
Continuing the series in which Fred Dibnah celebrates our nation's rich industrial heritage, he begins with a look at the development of the iron and steel industries at Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire. On his travels he comes across a rolling mill which he remembers working in his home town of Bolton, tries his hand at chain making and drives the biggest steam rolling mill engine he's ever seen.
Mining
Fred Dibnah continues his series on Britain's industrial heritage with a look at mining. His tour takes him from Cornwall to Scotland, exploring how tin, slate, lead and coal were all extracted from the ground.
