Fred Sokolow: Hoagy Carmichael Songbook (2004)

In this instructional video, guitarist Fred Sokolow uses classic tunes by composer Hoagy Carmichael to teach students basic guitar-playing methods, including how to fingerpick lines to accompany singing. Sokolow plays each song and then slows things down so viewers can follow along as he explains the theory behind the technique. He also covers chord soloing, improvising and playing instrumental versions of standards such as "Georgia on My Mind."
