Over the course of one hot post-graduate summer, Hannah (Greta Gerwig) falls precariously in and out of love. A breaker of hearts and chronically dissatisfied, she finds herself drifting away from her newly unemployed boyfriend (Mark Duplass) and drawn to two of her co-workers, Matt (Kent Osborne) and Paul (Andrew Bujalski).
Dull, lifeless and ultimately pointless.

I'm a huge fan of the mumblecore genre and even if you take into account Joe Swanberg’s films are an acquired taste this is easily his worst film to date. Despite a promising cast which includes Greta Gerwig and Mark Duplass, this is little more than 83 minutes of uninspired dialogue from uninteresting characters. What’s even more bizarre is that this managed to get a UK release while a large amount of far superior films, within the mumblecore genre miss out on UK DVD releases or even make it to DVD at all. If you’re looking for decent films within the mumblecore genre check out ‘The Puffy Chair’, ‘Old Joy’, ‘Wendy and Lucy’, The Guatemalan Handshake’ and ‘Cocaine Angel’, and if they ever get a DVD release Aaron Katz’s superb 'Quiet City' and 'Dance Party USA', Kentucker Audley’s ‘Team Picture’, Ry Russo-Young’s ‘Orphans’ and the Duplass Brothers ‘Baghead’.
