Hans-Joachim Marseille (1990)

Brian Matthews narrates this portrait of the pilot known as 'The Star of Africa' for the part he played in the African campaigns. The 22-year-old Marseille nurtured a spirit of comradeship amongst his colleagues,and possessed a unique fighting style which saw him undefeated in combat. He died as a result of engine trouble over El Alamein,and is recalled here by colleagues.
