Henri Toivonen: His Rally Days (1986)

At the time of Henri Toivonen's tragic death he was without doubt the fastest and most spectacular rally driver in the world and at the peak of his career. This video looks back over the years 1977 - 1986 with action from over 40 events and, although the early footage is brief, we see Henri develop from his first outings in an Avenger, through his Talbot days, his time at Rothmans and finally on to his career with the Martini Lancia team where only he was fully able to tame the magnificent Lancia S4. The action is almost exclusively Toivonen. The music is especially written for the film and the script is by Autosport's Keith Oswin.
