- Synopsis:
Pinky (Kajol) and Bunty (Atul Agnihotri) are young, immature students who meet during a College Youth Festival. They are immediately smitten by one another, and totally infatuated. They decide to quickly tie the knot. However Bunty's Father has already promised to marry him to his best friend's daughter, Shobha (Ayesha Jhulka). Meanwhile Pinky's marriage has been arranged with Arjun (Jackie Shroff), a mature and responsible Police Officer. Pinky and Bunty decide to elope, and go to Bunty's Aunt (Aruna Irani) for guidance. The Aunt realising it's nothing but infatuation, suggests them a plan, and advises them to marry as per their parent's wishes. But why? How will Pinky and Bunty be happy in a relationship with their respective life-partners, when they love each other? What is the Aunt's plan that would eventually bring Pinky and Bunty together?
