Blindingly quick, and utterly fearless, Jody Scheckter soon earned a reputation as the controversial "wild man" of Formula One. He debuted in 1972, but tarnished his image when he caused the most spectacular multiple pile-up ever seen. However, he went on to win the World Championship for Ferrari in 1979.
