Synopsis:
Documentary directed by Isaac Julien about the acclaimed gay black poet Langston Hughes, part of the avant-garde 'Harlem Renaissance' of the 1920's. Featuring original archive footage of the period and the famous Cotton Club where Langston would read his poetry, the documentary also features the work of other cultural figures such as writer James Baldwin and photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.
