Claire (Charlotte Ayanna) a brilliant graduate student, is searching for the answers of life's questions in her biology laboratory. One day at the cinema, she meets the mysterious man named Jack (Adrien Brody). Claire is intrigued by his style, his surly demeanour, and the sense of danger than surrounds him. Jack is, in fact a bona-fide con artist. With his loyal partner Charlie (John Seda) and two struggling actresses, he runs a regular scam conning foreign businessmen. An unlikely romance begins between innocent Claire and hard-boiled Jack. But Jack won't allow anyone to get too close, so he pushes Claire away. He retreats behind his tough exterior. Claire abandoned and confused falls into a self-destructive downward spiral and throws herself into a world full of depravity. Jack tries to ignore her and what she has become, so he can concentrate on his scams, but Detective Linda Fox (Pam Grier) is on to him. Once so self assured and confident, Jack finds his world crumbling. His emotions once fully under his control, are now pulling him into strange territory. Claire has affected him more profoundly than he ever expected. Only when Jack and Claire hit rock bottom, can Jack admit how much she means to him. - Actors:
