- Cast out and disowned by her husband, brutalised by Roman soldiers and searching for love and redemption, this is the story of one of the greatest Christian enigmas. Described by many as a seductress or witch, this magnificent film from the producers of 'The Bible' series tells how Mary Magdalene (Maria Grazia Cucinotta) was also a healer and politician.
Her life story is graphically depicted as she confronts Herod and Herodius and the powerful Roman occupiers and eventually someone who is to change her life, John the Baptist (Benjamin Sadler).
