Rent Monkey (1978 - 1980)

Monkey is a Japanese drama series about a group of magical creatures sent on a quest to find religious relics. The series follows Monkey, a man who was imprisoned for hundreds of years only to be awakened by a monk in need of his help. They head on a journey to locate religious artifacts the monk has been sent to collect. They are joined by two monsters hoping to get their humanity back from Sandy, a water monster to Pigsy, a pig like monster intent on eating anything. Together they help each other collect these artifacts and complete their journey of redemption.
