Synopsis:
Set in the Second World War, with stunning battle scenes and production values normally associated with studio films, Alessandro Pepe tells a history that few are brave enough to admit, let alone explore. Sergeant Ludwig Herckel is a devoted and patriotic soldier of the SS Leibstandarte. He has fought in every major conflict from the Eastern Front to Normandy Fiercely loyal to his country and his brothers in arms, and loved by his men, he will face his greatest battle against himself. Realizing how the war is going to end, he must make difficult choices in order to stay alive with his friends and return to his wife. This is the 'German Band of Brothers', based on true events.
It depicts a fascinating side of the Second World War that is rarely told. A truly beautiful film that tells of loyalty, courage, sacrifice and truth.

dodgy nazi apologia - My Honor Was Loyalty review by hp

Spoiler Alert
22/09/2016

a pretty dreadful film with an undercurrent of trying to portray an SS soldier as just an ordinary Joe. Perhaps when you have gangster movies which portray thugs as nice humans, or at least understandable, this kind of rubbish follows. Maybe next we get the happy slave trader or the child molester who was kind to animals.

My main residual questions were who funded this and why
