- Jude Law stars in this National Theatre Live production of the play based on the 1943 film by Luchino Visconti. Ivo van Hove directs the story of young drifter Gino (Law) who encounters a man and his beautiful but unhappy wife in a roadside diner. As Gino and Giovanna (Halina Reijn) find their attraction to each other undeniably strong they begin a passionate affair and plot a way to get rid of her husband.
