Depp's the man ! - Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl review by CP Customer

Spoiler Alert
02/08/2006

A great pirate film, with fine authentic sets, ships, parrots etc. Keira Knightly swashes and buckles womanfully, and Jack Davenport marches about manfully as her 'intended' (don'tcha love a man in uniform?) But it's Depp's film - fantastic costume, complete with beaded hair, the pout, and truly amazing eye makeup making me want to rush to the makeup cupboard and put eyeliner on there and then. He has a range of mannerisms, twitches, oddnesses which, like his cockney accent he manages to keep up all the way through the film - we LOVED him. Oh did I forget to mention Orlando Bloom ? Probably rightly.
