- Based on true events Pride is the inspiring story of Jim Ellis, a charismatic school teacher who changed lives forever when he founded an African-American swimming team in one of Philadelphia's roughest neighbourhoods. As racism, violence and an unsympathetic city official threaten to tear the team apart, Ellis must convince his team that victory, both in and out of the pool, is within their reach. Scratched - Pride review by JD
This DVD was badly scratched and I could not watch the second half. I returned it and after waiting a year for it to be cleaned it has been removed from my list.
It started very promisingly although a little dated (70's)I was disappointed not to be able to see the end.
